Woman Finds Snake is the Dishwasher in Owasso!

What would you do if you opened up the dishwasher and found a snake slithering around inside?

It happened to a woman in Owasso last week. She sent News On 6 a photo to prove her story, so I had to go out and hear her story for myself.

Linda Housley taught school in Ardmore for 32 years before retiring to northeast Oklahoma to be with family. But nothing could have prepared her for what she found in her kitchen last week.

Mrs. Housley says she was cleaning up after dinner last week, and as she was putting dishes in her dishwasher and before she started the wash cycle, she saw something hanging from the rack.

"And I stepped back and said it's a snake and my husband didn't believe me and I said it again. So I had a fork and a bowl in my hand and I got the fork and poked at it thinking maybe I get em to drop," said Linda Housley.

Once it fell to the bottom of the dishwasher, Linda Housley said she didn't know what to do. She says she grabbed a couple of paper towels, picked up the snake and put it in a bowl.

"I tried to stab him with a fork, so that didn't work, so I got a knife and I had to hold his head down, because he's trying to slither out of the bowl and I got him," said Linda Housley.

I asked what did you cut; did you cut its head off? She said yes.

Linda and her husband didn't believe her at first, but she had to do something.

"He's more afraid of snakes than I am. So I knew he wasn't going to take care of it. If it had to be gotten, I was going to get it," said Linda Housley.

Mrs. Housley says she has no idea how it got in the house, and is kind of disappointed that her dog didn't catch it first.

Animal welfare officers in Tulsa say they've never heard of a snake getting in a dishwasher.

YOU JUST THOUGHT HE WAS QUITTIN!!!!!

60-year-old entertainer George Strait reveals that he is already working on music for a new album. Strait announced his decision to retire from active touring in September, but he’ll perform a full schedule of dates in 2013 and 2014 before he officially says goodbye to the road. In the meantime he’s got a new single out , he still intends to record a new album every year.

“I’m feeling a little antsy about getting back in the studio. I’ve got some great material already,” he shares. “I’m working on some songs and some original stuff too. I’ve been doing a little bit of writing, but I need to do a little more.”

Strait adds that he has set aside some time to work with Dean Dillon, one of the top songwriters in Nashville whose previous Strait cuts include ‘The Chair,’ ‘Ocean Front Property’ and ‘It’s a Little Too Late.’ He also hopes to write some more with his son, Bubba, who has contributed to his albums in the past. 60-year-old entertainer George Strait reveals that he is already working on music for a new album.
